Livigno (Livìgn in Livigno dialect) is an Italian town of 6,830 inhabitants in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy. It is nestled between the Engadine and the Alta Valtellina and is an enchanting valley that stretches for 12 km. Between two mountain ranges that descend gently from 3,000 meters to 1,800 meters of the country. It is an extra customs area and is part of the Alta Valtellina Mountain Community, Livigno will host together with Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo and Bormio the races of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Livigno is one of the most important and well-equipped tourist destinations in the Alps that offers visitors wonderful holidays in contact with nature and alpine tradition throughout the year.
Trepalle is a small fraction of the Municipality of Livigno and is known because it is the highest parish in Europe, at 2,069 meters above sea level. Part of the village is arranged along the State Road 301 of Foscagno which, through the Passo D'Eira, leads to Livigno which is 10 km from Trepalle.
